Impacts

Information about the project was distributed at the meeting of administration ChNU, Methodological Council, Academic Council of the Faculty of Economics, Department of Economics enterprises meeting (total – 15 minutes).

The 5 day 20 hour workshop for faculty and staff of the University with issuing of the certificates was held in November 2013. The topic of the coaching seminar was – “Let’s start University – Enterprise cooperation now”. The seminar has applied focus and was conducted by leading experts in the interaction between education and practice from EU universities. The total audience was more than 20 people, including: Representatives of Educational Department, International Office, University Career Centre, Student Trade Union, Teaching staff representatives and ChNU TEMPUS Team. The workshop has caused a lot of publicity at the university and other interested persons, which makes the prospects of such events in the future.

As a result, the educational process and system of approach to teaching of a large part of the subjects was changed. The focus was made on application and practice component of cooperation with enterprises. For example, the curricula of the following disciplines in Chernivtsi National University Faculty of Economics as “The activities of small enterprises”, “Company Capital”, “Economic Management of Enterprises” and others are radically changed. The forming of the training bases for students to improve practical skills, implementation of theoretical knowledge in manufacturing based on SLC “Trembita”, LLC “Rozma”, Viktor LTD, VC “Carat”, PMK-76 and other enterprises (September-December 2014 – 21 student, April 2015 – 23 students) took place. Practical classes and seminars were held in individual companies: DF-Agro, LLC “Rozma” (March-April 2015, 27 students).

The Centre for Partnerships with Enterprises (CPE) became the structural component of the organizational structure of the University.

At the same time, some universities may have their own operational features of CPE functioning. For example, Chernivtsi National University does not have Alumni Association, so cooperation with them is relied on CPE. Some time CPE performed the functions of the Career Centre, which was not created at that time.

 

About Centre fo Partnership with Enterprises

The Centre organized and held an international Internet web video conference with students and faculty stuff of two universities in December 2013. The theme of the conference was “Innovation as a form of the modern economy.” The number of participants exceeded 20 people on each side; the number of speakers was 10. Details of participants: students and teachers of Orel branch of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation (Orel, Russia) and Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University (Chernivtsi, Ukraine); ChNU Cap4Com Team.

Gathering of information from faculties and departments, as well as the control benchmarking analysis were organized and performed in January 2014. The results allowed to determine the basic directions of intensification of cooperation with enterprises. The results of this analysis will be presented tomorrow at the conference.

The interaction of students and companies to perform research under the master’s works was organized by the CPE under the Follow-up of pilot partnership projects in February-June 2014. Six students performed their master’s theses at three plants of the region through the assistance and provision of information by Centre. Eight students performed their master’s theses and 2 students fulfilled the theses of the bachelor educational level through the Centre in 2015.

The roundtable with representatives of the media to represent the main objectives and plans of the Centre was also held in November 2013. The journalists, local media got information on the establishment and functioning of the CPE. There was also the official opening the Centre for Partnerships with Enterprises. These events have also been highlighted to appear in the local news. In general, the activities of the Centre are regularly covered on the website and in the media.

The Center organized the participation of the 4th year bachelor students (19 people) in the “Open Days” meeting of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine in Chernivtsi region.

The participation of students (19 people) in the innovation enterprise “Artron” work is planned with the help of the Centre (September 2015).

A traditional event “job fair” was held in Chernivtsi National University with the participation of the Centre for Partnerships with Enterprises in April 2014 and April 2015. Employers were presenting jobs for future graduates, and students were able to get acquainted with the modern requirements of the labour market.

The Centre for Partnerships with Enterprises joined the campaign of start-ups arranged for the students of the University of Chernivtsi.

The work on bilateral agreement with one of the companies in the city of Chernivtsi to implement its orders on scientific research with appropriate payment services is being completed.

The proposals of possible project ideas, initiatives of enterprises and employees of the University are possible on the website of the CPE, to be discussed with the definition of the prospects of implementation. Thus, the heading “FORUM” launched on the website of the CPE should also contribute to this.

Perspective of the Centre work is the development of Economic Education Program in senior high school.

As to the future financing, the project of applied research commissioned by small enterprise on the topic: “The study of the market for agricultural products of Chernivtsi region” is initiated by the Business Development Laboratory and is being implemented. The project provides payment for the work performed.

 

Links with society

 

An opportunity to express and share project ideas with prospects of their implementation was organized at the Centre web-site (http://cpe.chnu.edu.ua). As well as the materials (news) were published on the ChNU web-site of project (http://www.cap4com.chnu.edu.ua).

Quarterly bulletins for Ukraine in Ukrainian and English are regularly published (http://cap4com.eu).

During the reporting period – 37 common publication, the main of them are the following:

-          Brochure “European Experience of University Management in the context of the organisation of partnerships with enterprises”;

-         Quarterly bulletins for Ukraine in Ukrainian and English;

-         Materials for the Workshop ‘University-Enterprise Partnership – from Good Practice to Strategy” (Chernivtsi, Apr 2013);

-         the consolidated materials (presentations) of Round Table “Let’s start University – Enterprise cooperation now” (Chernivtsi, Nov 2013).

The Centre for Partnerships with Enterprises of ChNU is participating in the Program of retired military personnel retraining (32 participants, May-June 2015).

Center (director Bohdan Kovalyuk) participated (December 2014 – June 2015) in the development of “Strategy of Chernivtsi region by 2020″ in cooperation with the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration and the Chernivtsi Regional Council.

Center (director Bohdan Kovalyuk) participated (December 2014 – June 2015) in developing the “Program of small business development Chernivtsy region for the period 2015-2016″ together with the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration and the Chernivtsi Regional Council.

Center Director Bohdan Kovalyuk is a member of the jury “Best taxpayer of Bukovina – 2015″, organized by the Association of Taxpayers of Ukraine (May 2015).

Center Director Bohdan Kovalyuk is a member of the information and analytical program of local media broadcast in expert assessment of land relations.

Chernivtsi National University has signed an agreement on cooperation with the Chernivtsi Chamber of Commerce. Joint events, seminars, conferences and study of enterprises needs are regularly being held in the format of this cooperation. The university professors lecture to representatives of firms, etc. Chernivtsi National University is also working closely with The Federation of Employers of Ukraine within the framework of social partnership and development of labour potential. Joint revision of educational standards for higher school is carried out and “passport professions” are designed. Chernivtsi National University is one of 23 universities in Ukraine involved in this process (as well as the National Metallurgical Academy of Ukraine, Dnepropetrovsk). In addition, the Federation supports financially the initiative of teachers and students of ChNU. CPE of Chernivtsi National University is actively involved in these processes.

In the Chernivtsi National University has tightly organized exchange of practices with other Tempus projects related to university-enterprise co-operation. Thus, the coordinator of the Tempus project Cap4Com Yurii Lopatynskyi acted as an effectiveness analysis expert of the other ChNU Tempus project “Towards Trust in Quality Assurance Systems (TRUST)” – 516935-TEMPUS-1-2011-1-FITEMPUS-SMGR, based on the “triangle”: education – research – innovation. In addition, working together in a consortium Cap4Com allowed to develop and implement other Tempus project aimed at changing the system of education and research PICASA – “Promoting Internationalization of HEIs in Eastern Neighbouring Countries” – 544125-TEMPUS-2013-AM-SMGR, to meet the requirements of modern European practice.

External Evaluation Reports for Cap4Com project provided by the representatives of the society demonstrated the effectiveness and good result of the project.

The above mentioned lead to good prospects for intensification of the CPE of Chernivtsi National University.

The main tasks for the nearest future are the following:

-         increasing number of companies involved in cooperation and expanding cooperation with them;

-         diversification of types and forms of cooperation;

-         intensification of university cooperation with enterprises, bringing university income.
